The U.S. is therefore no longer a democracy, and it has the press (such as CNN) that one expects in such a place. The press, in any dictatorship, ‘report’ that the government represents the public. The U.S. is just another dictatorship, so it ‘reports’ that it’s not. But that’s not part of this news story; it is instead the story’s context.
